Slayer graffiti mistaken for hate crime

One Slayer fan's attempt to show their admiration for the metal band was recently mistaken for a hate crime in Commack, New York.  According to the "Commack Patch," a building at the city's Little League ball field was vandalized Tuesday night with black graffiti featuring the word "Slayer" and the band's famous pentagram logo.

Police initially investigated the incident as a hate crime, but it turns out at least one official had enough metal knowledge to figure out that the symbols were associated with the band.
